A full, robust wine, characterised by an intense vinous fragrance and a herbaceous hint, it also offers fruity aromatic touches, mainly of cherry and blackcurrant. Its intense ruby-red colour tends towards garnet with maturation and ageing. Over time it refines considerably, acquiring a pleasant bouquet and a dry, harmonious and balanced taste.

Grape variety
Merlot, like many other grape varieties, originates in France, in the Bordeaux area. The first records of its introduction to Italy date from after the first half of the 19th century.

Soil
Clayey, silty and slightly alkaline.

Winemaking
Maceration for 25-30 days at a controlled temperature of 24°/28°. Pumping over with oxygen injection and soft pressing. Since these are tannic, full-bodied wines, ageing is carried out with a micro-oxygenator to make the wine softer and more elegant.
